The House

A coat you keep, in a season that asks everything of it.

Our story

Winter is not a season to endure. It is a season to be seen in.

FARAYA begins with the coat, and the coat begins with the silhouette — cropped and full, or long and belted, never fussy. Fox at the collar and the cuff. Wool that holds its line through a season of snow.

Nothing is added for effect. The volume of the fur is the decoration; the fall of the wool is the tailoring. What remains is a piece you reach for every winter, not one you wear for a season and replace.

The collection is small on purpose. Eight pieces, two materials, four colourways of fox — enough to dress a winter, not enough to dilute it. Fur has a long memory: a coat like this outlasts the year it was bought in, and it should.

Campaign

Deep winter needs no set.

Three FARAYA fox coats — black, ivory and brown — worn together in open snow.
A blush fox jacket and a white fur hat, seen in profile in falling snow.
An ivory fox jacket and a pale felt hat, seen in profile against snowy pines.

Shot outdoors in deep winter — no studio, no backdrop, only the light that comes off snow.

Craftsmanship

Fur, wool, and nothing you cannot see.

Two materials carry the whole collection. Fox — ivory, black, sable, blush — at the collar, the cuff and the hood. Wool for the body, cut to fall rather than to cling.

  • Close detail of banded ivory fox fur on a jacket sleeve.

    The band

Fox worked in horizontal bands, so the volume sits in rows rather than falling flat. It is what gives the cropped jackets their shape from across a room.

  • An ivory fox jacket with deep banded cuffs at the wrist.
    02

    The turned cuff

Cuffs are cut deep and turned back over the wrist — the one place a winter coat is seen up close, so it is the one place given extra fur.

  • The wool body and self-tie belt of an ivory coat, with fox at the cuff.
    03

    The belt

A self-tie belt in the same wool as the body. No hardware, no buckle: the waist is drawn by hand, wherever the wearer wants it.

  • A black wool coat seen from behind, belted, with fox at the hood and cuffs.
    04

    The body

Under the fur, a wool body cut clean and close. It is why the cropped pieces hold their line instead of collapsing at the shoulder.

Materials

Two materials, and the whole collection.

Three fox jackets — black, ivory and sable — worn together in snowy woods.

Fox

Ivory, black, sable and blush. Worked in horizontal bands on the cropped jackets, so the volume sits in rows and holds its shape; used at the collar, the cuff and the hood on the wool pieces.

A belted grey wool coat, its shawl collar held at the chest, with a pale grey fox cuff.

Wool

Cut to fall rather than to cling. It is the wool body under the fur that keeps the cropped pieces from collapsing at the shoulder, and the wool alone that carries the long belted coats.
